Privacy Policy: Goodhands: Tip Tracker

Goodhands: Tip Tracker ("the app") is made by Goodhands Apps ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your shifts, tips and wages stay on your phone. We don't have accounts, we don't sell data, and we don't show ads.
What stays on your phone
Everything you enter stays on your phone, in the app's private storage:
- jobs, shifts, hours and wages
- card tips, cash tips, tip-outs, tip pools and sales
- the sentences you type to log a shift
- your settings and your tip-out rules
We never receive any of this, unless you choose to attach a shift to a feedback message (see below).
What leaves your phone
1. Anonymous usage statistics (you can turn them off)
To learn which features people use and how often the "type your shift" box reads a shift correctly, the app sends a small number of anonymous events to Aptabase, an analytics service that processes them for us. An event can only contain:
- which screen or feature was used
- which shift field (for example "card tips") was read, and whether you corrected it
- how confident the app was, as a bucket (low, medium, high)
- the app's language (English or Spanish) and parser version
- how the shift was entered (typed, form, import)
- whether you have Pro
- the app version and Android version (added by Aptabase)
Events never contain amounts, hours, dates, job or employer names, the text you typed, your e-mail, or any device or advertising id. You can turn usage statistics off in Settings.
2. Feedback you choose to send
If you send feedback from the app, we receive the type (problem, idea or question), your message, the app version and the app language. You can also choose to add:
- your e-mail address, so we can reply
- device info (phone model and Android version)
- one shift, which includes its date, hours and tip amounts
Nothing is sent until you tap Send. We use feedback only to answer you and improve the app.
3. Purchases
Goodhands Pro is bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment under Google's own privacy policy. We don't receive your card or payment details. The app keeps a purchase receipt on your phone so it can tell that Pro is unlocked.
4. Backups
If Android backup is on, Android copies the app's data to your own Google account (Backup by Google One). This is Google's service, and we cannot see these backups. You can also export a backup file or a CSV yourself. Those files go only where you send them.
5. Reports you share
Tax-ready records (PDF and CSV), backup files and shift exports are created on your phone. They leave your phone only if you share them or save them somewhere.
What we don't do
- No accounts, no sign-up, no login
- No ads, and no advertising or tracking ids
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access
- No selling or renting of data, ever
- No crash-reporting service in this version
Service providers
We use service providers that process data only on our behalf and only for the purposes above:

If a future version adds an optional AI assistant, we will update this policy before that version is released, and the assistant will stay off until you turn it on.
How long we keep things
- Usage statistics are kept in aggregate and cannot be tied to you.
- Feedback messages and e-mail addresses are kept as long as we need them to answer you, and for at most 2 years.
- Data on your phone stays until you delete it.
Deleting your data
- In the app: Settings → Delete all data removes every job, shift, tip and rule from your phone.
- Uninstalling the app removes all of its data from your phone. To also remove an Android backup, delete it in your Google account (Google One → Storage → Backups).
- Feedback: e-mail support@goodhandsapps.com and we will delete your messages and e-mail address.
Tax-ready records
The app totals your tips and shows reference information published by the IRS. It does not calculate taxes or decide what you qualify for. These are records, not tax advice. Check with a tax professional. Goodhands Apps is not affiliated with the IRS.
Children
The app is meant for adults who work for tips. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
